This type of fishing category is based on trawling the fishing tackle, as trolling, but it is carried out near the coastline. Therefore, the catch of those voracious fish, such as amber jack, sea bass or mackerel, is difficult. It is common to use artificial lure holds on rods which are short. It is not necessary to have big equipments as the size of the fish will be less than the one we could catch in deep-sea fishing.

The fisherman throw a lure into the water while the vessel is sailing slowly, letting the lure go 25 metres underwater, it is the moment when we work the lure properly, taking advantage of the vessel stream. Actually, the secret of good pole-and-line fishing is the person who drives the vessel more than to the one who holds the rod: the first depends on the success of the second.

In order to practise this type of fishing, we suggest you enjoy this trip with one of the best Balearic littoral fisherman, with whom we will go to the fishing areas on a vessel called Sea Ray Laguna Fisher 310 of 9,44 metres long and 3,60 metres breadth, which is ideal for fishing both big game and jigging. The power of its two engines, each 300hp, guarantees arriving faster to the fishing-grounds.

The fishing equipment consists of eight Kilwell Live 2000 Prototype rods with Avet 30 lb. reels. It might be possible to use Game Fisher rods and Avet 20 lb. reels.

• Book the activity on the first days of your holidays in order to, if weather impede it, depart other day.

• A minimum of 1 person is requiered to book. The maximum number of passengers at vessel are 6. For a bigger number of passengers, it could be possible to make a request, with beforehand, in order to prepare other vessel.
