Route on horseback to Santueri´s Castle

Santueri Castle is situated at 7 kilometres (long) from Felanitx. It is on the top of a hill at 408 metres high in Llevant Range of Majorca. It is protected by rough cliffs, it was built in XIV century on an Arabic fortress, and very probably on a Byzantine fortress in a Roman military settlement. Only some exteriors walls remain standing, as well as some interior precincts and cisterns.

A wall inside the vast castle allows you to admire, apart from the wild flowers and endemic fauna and flora also the panoramic views of Majorca, absolutely spectacular (its strategic location lets you contemplate Portocolom, Portopetro, a large ship coast of Migjorn in the south of Majorca, and on clear days, the cut out silhouette of Cabrera island), doing this excursion undoubtedly worth it for those that want to enjoy to ride on a privileged natural environment.

Therefore, this excursion will be carried out on one of the most beautiful Majorca routes, and it will finish on top of a mountain where Santueri Castle stands, where without doubt, we will evoke in our mind the moments the people lived there centuries ago.

All along the activity, a support vehicle will follow us with a trailer and will supply us a splendid complet buffet, both for us and our mounts.

• Wear trainers if you do not have riding boots.
• Wear riding trousers. If you do not have one, wear long trousers like jeans.
• Sun cream lotion and a hat or a cap in summer time.
• Binoculars, if you have some.
• Respect the environment.

• Riders should be able to trot. Therefore, a medium or a high level is required.
